Alerts to orders
TrendSpider alerts to Nyria Paper orders
Point a TrendSpider Alert or Strategy Bot's webhook at a Nyria strategy and run it on Nyria Paper. Each post fills from the live quote the moment it arrives, in a simulated account with no broker connected and no card on file, and every fill sits in the log beside the post that caused it.
How it works
TrendSpider posts
An Alert or Strategy Bot fires with its webhook pointed at Nyria. The note or body is plain text or JSON in your own wording, with TrendSpider's %variables% where the symbol or status changes.
Nyria reads it
Symbol, side, and any strike, expiry or price the post names. Size comes from the paper bot's budget per entry; order type and duration from the strategy.
Nyria Paper fills it
The paper bot fills at the quote Nyria read when the post landed, logs it, and matches every exit to the position it closes.
What a TrendSpider post can say
Each row is a note or body as TrendSpider sends it, and what the paper bot does with it.
A Strategy Bot entry
{
"symbol": "%bot_symbol%",
"action": "buy",
"status": "%bot_status%"
}Buy the bot's symbol at the quote Nyria read when the post arrived. TrendSpider fills in the symbol and the status; the paper bot sizes the order from its budget per entry.
An Alert with an options contract
{
"symbol": "%alert_symbol%",
"action": "BTO",
"strike": 280,
"expiry": "2026-12-18",
"type": "put"
}On an IWM chart: buy to open the IWM $280 put expiring Dec 18, 2026, filled at the ask on the live chain. While the options market is closed the entry is refused and logged.
A crypto Alert
{
"symbol": "%alert_symbol%",
"action": "buy",
"price": "%last_price%"
}Buy spot at the alert's last price as a limit, or at the ask as a market order. Nyria Paper fills crypto at any hour, so a weekend alert fills on the weekend.
A Strategy Bot exit
{
"symbol": "%bot_symbol%",
"action": "sell",
"status": "%bot_status%"
}Close the position the paper bot holds in that symbol. A sell for a symbol it never bought places nothing, and the log says why.
Set it up
- 1Create a Nyria account. Select Integrations in the left sidebar, then the Nyria Paper card, then Create Nyria Paper account. No card and no broker.
- 2Create a strategy in Nyria and pick TrendSpider as the alert source. Choose stocks, options or crypto, and set what an entry and an exit do on each side.
- 3Copy the strategy's webhook URL from its Integration tab. In TrendSpider, paste it into an Alert's webhook field or a Strategy Bot's own URL, and write the note or body with TrendSpider's %variables%.
- 4Fire a test alert or bot signal. The strategy stays inactive until Nyria reads one correctly, and the Logs tab shows the symbol, side and any contract it read.
- 5On the strategy, select Deploy bot, switch to Paper, set the Budget per entry and select Deploy on Nyria Paper. The next post from TrendSpider is a paper fill.
One Strategy Bot, one paper bot
A TrendSpider Strategy Bot is already a complete set of rules: an entry condition, an exit condition, a symbol and a timeframe. Pointing it at a Nyria strategy on paper adds the one thing the bot cannot show on its own: what those rules do at the quoted price, in real time, with the exit matched to the entry it closes.
Give each Strategy Bot its own Nyria strategy and its own paper bot with the same budget per entry. After a few weeks the Logs tabs read as a side-by-side record: which bot's posts arrived in time, which fills landed near the bar price, and which exits found their position. A bot whose sells keep arriving for a symbol it never bought shows up as a column of refusals, which is a message-format problem to fix before it costs anything.
When one of them is worth running live, deploy a second bot on the same Nyria strategy at a connected broker. The paper bot keeps going beside it, so the live fills always have a quoted-price control to read against.

Fills on Nyria Paper
A market order fills at the ask to buy and the bid to sell, from the quote Nyria read when the alert arrived, and never slips. A limit order fills or is refused at once against that quote and never rests. Nothing queues and nothing partially fills.
A spread fills at its natural price. An option held to expiry settles in cash at its intrinsic value. A paper market order pays the quoted spread and nothing more, so paper profit and loss usually reads better than live.
Questions
- Should I paper trade an Alert or a Strategy Bot?
- Whichever you mean to run live. An Alert posts from one account-level URL and reaches one strategy, with %alert_symbol%, %last_price%, %alert_name%, %alert_note% or %price_action_event% in its note. A Strategy Bot posts its own URL and body, so each bot can reach its own Nyria strategy and its own paper bot.
- Will TrendSpider's backtest match the paper fills?
- Not exactly, and the difference is what the paper run is for. The backtest fills at bar prices; Nyria Paper fills at the quote it read when the webhook arrived, a second or two after the bar. Compare the two after a week and the gap tells you how much the strategy depends on the exact print.
- Is Nyria Paper a real broker?
- No. Nyria Paper is the simulated account built into Nyria. Orders are priced from live market data, nothing reaches a real broker or exchange and no money moves.
- Can one TrendSpider bot feed a paper bot and a live bot?
- Yes. One post reaches every bot on the Nyria strategy, so the paper bot keeps running beside a second bot on a connected Charles Schwab, Tradier, tastytrade or Alpaca account, each with its own budget per entry.
- How many paper bots can I run?
- Up to 10 without a plan, on Nyria Paper or on a broker's own paper account. There is no time limit and no card.
- What does a paper run not tell me?
- What a live account would earn. Paper shows that the alert reaches Nyria, that Nyria reads it the way you meant and that every exit closes its entry. Slippage, partial fills, queue position and a broker's own rejections only show up live.
- What does it cost?
- Paper is free. Live trading from $15 a month.
