Alerts to orders
Webhook alerts to Nyria Paper orders
Point any script, bot or service at a strategy's own webhook URL and run it on Nyria Paper. Each post fills from the live quote the moment it arrives, in a simulated account with no broker connected and no card on file, so the code you wrote gets a real market to run against before it touches real money.
How it works
Your service posts
A script, a cron job, a bot you already run, or anything else that can send an HTTP request fires the strategy's webhook URL with a body in your own wording.
Nyria reads it
Ticker, side, and any strike, expiry or price the body names. Size comes from the paper bot's budget per entry; order type and duration from the strategy.
Nyria Paper fills it
The paper bot fills at the quote Nyria read when the post landed, logs it with the time, and matches every exit to the position it closes.
What a webhook post can say
Each row is a body as your code sends it, and what the paper bot does with it.
A stock entry from a script
{ "ticker": "AAPL", "action": "buy" }Buy AAPL at the ask, or at a limit if the strategy sets one. The post carries no size, so the paper bot's budget per entry decides how many whole shares.
An options entry with the contract named
{
"ticker": "SPY",
"action": "BTO",
"strike": 765,
"expiry": "2026-11-13",
"type": "put"
}Buy to open the SPY $765 put expiring Nov 13, 2026, filled at the ask on the live chain. While the options market is closed the entry is refused and logged.
A crypto entry from a cron job
buy BTC
Buy BTC spot at the quote Nyria read when the post arrived. Nyria Paper fills crypto at any hour, so a job that runs at 03:00 gets a fill at 03:00.
An exit
{ "ticker": "AAPL", "action": "sell" }Close the AAPL position the paper bot holds, matched to what it holds. If it holds nothing, nothing is placed and the Logs tab says why.
Set it up
- 1Create a Nyria account. Select Integrations in the left sidebar, then the Nyria Paper card, then Create Nyria Paper account. No card and no broker.
- 2Create a strategy in Nyria and pick Webhook as the alert source. Choose stocks, options or crypto, and set what an entry and an exit do on each side.
- 3Copy the strategy's webhook URL from its Integration tab and point your script, bot or service at it. The body can be plain text or JSON.
- 4Send a test post. The strategy stays inactive until Nyria reads one correctly, and the Logs tab shows the ticker, side and any contract it read.
- 5On the strategy, select Deploy bot, switch to Paper, set the Budget per entry and select Deploy on Nyria Paper. The next post is a paper fill, listed beside the post that caused it.
A paper account as a test bench
Code that places orders is hard to test, because the thing it talks to is a market. Nyria Paper gives it one. Post from the script exactly as you would in production, and read back on the Logs tab what Nyria parsed, what it filled and at what quote, and what it refused. A field your code sends that Nyria does not read shows up there as a refusal with a reason, which is a cheaper way to learn it than a live rejection.
The paper account enforces the same rules a live bot would meet: whole shares, options only while the options market is open, a budget per entry that has to cover at least one unit, and an exit that only closes a position the bot holds. A script that sends an exit before its entry, or sells a symbol it never bought, produces a column of refusals that reads at a glance.
Once the log reads the way the code intends, deploy a second bot on the same strategy at a connected broker. The paper bot keeps running beside it, so every live fill has a quoted-price control next to it.
What Nyria Paper trades from a webhook post

- Crypto spot, at any hour, weekends included
- Crypto perpetuals, as a simulation only
Not traded

- Fractional shares
- Options alerts while the options market is closed; they are refused, not queued
- Anything at a real broker: no money moves
The fields Nyria reads, with a Python sample, are on the webhook alert page, and the walkthrough of a paper run, with the Logs tab shown, is the paper trading guide.
Fills on Nyria Paper
A market order fills at the ask to buy and the bid to sell, from the quote Nyria read when the alert arrived, and never slips. A limit order fills or is refused at once against that quote and never rests. Nothing queues and nothing partially fills.
A spread fills at its natural price. An option held to expiry settles in cash at its intrinsic value. A paper market order pays the quoted spread and nothing more, so paper profit and loss usually reads better than live.
Questions
- What can post the webhook?
- Anything that can send an HTTP request: a Python script, a cron job, a bot you already run, a spreadsheet macro, a home-grown scanner. The body is plain text or JSON in your own wording; name the ticker and the side, and add a strike, expiry and call or put for options, or let the strategy pick the contract from its own rules.
- Is the webhook URL a secret?
- Treat it as one. Each strategy has its own URL, and whoever can post to it can place paper orders on every bot the strategy carries. Keep it out of public repositories, and create a new strategy if it leaks.
- How fast does a post become a paper fill?
- Nyria reads the post, prices it from the quote it holds for that moment and writes the fill to the log. The paper fill never waits on a venue, so what the log shows is the time between your post and Nyria reading it.
- Is Nyria Paper a real broker?
- No. Nyria Paper is the simulated account built into Nyria. Orders are priced from live market data, nothing reaches a real broker or exchange and no money moves.
- Can the same post trade on paper and at a broker?
- Yes. One post reaches every bot on the strategy, so the paper bot keeps running beside a second bot on a connected Charles Schwab, Tradier, tastytrade or Alpaca account, each with its own budget per entry.
- How many paper bots can I run?
- Up to 10 without a plan, on Nyria Paper or on a broker's own paper account. There is no time limit and no card.
- What does it cost?
- Paper is free. Live trading from $15 a month.
