Alerts to orders
TradingView alerts to Nyria Paper orders
Point a TradingView alert's webhook URL at a Nyria strategy and run it on Nyria Paper, the simulated account built into Nyria. Every alert fills from the live quote the moment it arrives, with no broker connected and no card on file.
How it works
TradingView fires
A strategy, price or indicator alert fires with Webhook URL turned on. The message is plain text or JSON in your own wording, with TradingView's placeholders where the ticker or side changes.
Nyria reads it
Nyria reads the ticker and the side, plus any strike, expiry or price the message names. Size comes from the paper bot's budget per entry; order type and duration from the strategy.
Nyria Paper fills it
The paper bot fills at the quote Nyria read when the alert landed, logs the fill beside the alert, and matches every exit alert to the position it closes.
What a TradingView alert can say
Each row is an alert as TradingView sends it, and what the paper bot does with it.
A strategy entry
{ "ticker": "{{ticker}}", "action": "{{strategy.order.action}}" }TradingView fills in the ticker and the side when the strategy fires, so one alert serves every symbol the chart is on. The bot sizes the paper order from its budget per entry.
An options entry with the contract named
{
"ticker": "QQQ",
"action": "BTO",
"strike": 745,
"expiry": "2026-11-20",
"type": "call"
}Buy to open the QQQ $745 call expiring Nov 20, 2026, filled at the ask on the live chain. While the options market is closed the entry is refused and the log says so.
A crypto entry at night
{ "ticker": "BTC", "action": "buy" }Buy BTC spot. Nyria Paper fills crypto at any hour, so an alert that fires at 2 a.m. on a Sunday gets a fill at that moment's quote instead of waiting for a session.
A strategy exit
{ "ticker": "{{ticker}}", "action": "sell" }Close the open position in that ticker, matched to what the paper bot holds. If the bot holds nothing, no order is placed and the log records why.
Set it up
- 1Create a Nyria account. Select Integrations in the left sidebar, then the Nyria Paper card, then Create Nyria Paper account. It opens with a simulated balance and no card.
- 2Create a strategy with TradingView as the alert source. Choose stocks, options or crypto, and set what an entry and an exit do on each side. Copy the webhook URL and the message from the strategy's Integration tab.
- 3In TradingView, create the alert on the strategy or indicator, paste the message, select Webhook URL under Notifications and paste the URL. Two-factor sign-in has to be on for TradingView to send it.
- 4Send a test alert. The strategy stays inactive until Nyria reads one correctly, and the Logs tab shows the ticker, side and any contract it read.
- 5On the strategy, select Deploy bot, switch to Paper, set the Budget per entry and select Deploy on Nyria Paper. The next alert is a paper fill, listed next to the alert that caused it.
Why paper first, even for a backtested strategy
A backtest proves the logic. It says nothing about whether the alert leaves TradingView at all, whether the message names what you think it names, or whether an exit fired from a second indicator finds the position it is meant to close. Those are plumbing questions, and plumbing is what a paper run answers.
Run the strategy on Nyria Paper for a week of real alerts. Read the Logs tab after each one: the alert as it arrived, what Nyria read from it, the fill price and the position it opened or closed. A refusal is written there with its reason, such as a budget per entry too small for one contract. Fix the message or the strategy, send another test alert, and only then deploy a second bot on a broker account.
One strategy can carry both bots at once. You can leave the paper bot running after going live: it shows what the strategy would have done at the quoted price, next to what the broker filled.

Fills on Nyria Paper
A market order fills at the ask to buy and the bid to sell, from the quote Nyria read when the alert arrived, and never slips. A limit order fills or is refused at once against that quote and never rests. Nothing queues and nothing partially fills.
A spread fills at its natural price. An option held to expiry settles in cash at its intrinsic value. Paper profit and loss usually reads better than live, because a paper market order pays the quoted spread and nothing more.
Questions
- Do I need a paid TradingView plan to paper trade?
- Yes, for the alert to leave TradingView. Webhooks are sent on its paid plans only, with two-factor sign-in turned on. Nyria's side is free: the paper account, the strategy and the bots cost nothing and need no card.
- Is the paper fill the same price my strategy printed on the chart?
- Not always, and that gap is the point. TradingView's strategy tester fills at the bar's close or open; Nyria Paper fills at the quote it read when the webhook arrived, usually a second or two later. A strategy that only works at the chart's exact price shows that on paper before it costs anything.
- Is Nyria Paper a real broker?
- No. Nyria Paper is the simulated account built into Nyria. Orders are priced from live market data, nothing reaches a real broker or exchange and no money moves.
- Can the same alert run on paper and at a broker?
- Yes. One alert reaches every bot on the strategy. Run a paper bot alone first, then deploy a second bot on a connected Charles Schwab, Tradier, tastytrade or Alpaca account and keep the paper bot running beside it as a control.
- How many paper bots can I run?
- Up to 10 without a plan, on Nyria Paper or on a broker's own paper account. There is no time limit and no card.
- What does a paper run not tell me?
- What a live account would earn. Paper shows that the alert reaches Nyria, that Nyria reads it the way you meant and that every exit closes its entry. Slippage, partial fills, queue position and a broker's own rejections only show up live.
- What does it cost?
- Paper is free. Live trading from $15 a month.
