How to automate Discord alerts, step by step
Nyria's bot reads one channel in a Discord server you run. A call posted there, in the caller's own words, becomes an order in your broker account. This guide goes from the invite to a live bot.
What you need
- A Nyria account with at least one connected broker.
- The Manage Server permission in the Discord server you run.
- The channel in that server you want Nyria to read.
Step by step
- 1
Link Discord and invite the bot
Link Discord under Integrations, then invite the Nyria bot to the server you run. Inviting it needs the Manage Server permission from you; the invite itself asks for one permission, View Channels, and the bot never reads direct messages.
- 2
Create the strategy and pick the channel
Create a strategy, pick Discord as the alert source, and choose one channel in that server. Nyria acts on messages posted in that channel, in that server, from any member, bot or webhook, whatever their roles. Threads, other channels and direct messages are not read.
- 3
Narrow it with an author or keyword filter
Add an author filter to match part of the poster's display name, case-insensitive, so the strategy only acts on the caller who posts the calls. Add a keyword filter to match text anywhere in the message, case-insensitive, for a channel where alerts share space with chat.
- 4
Validate with the message preview
The strategy setup shows the channel's latest 25 messages, embeds and code blocks included; Load more reads 100 older messages at a time. Assign a real message to Long entry, Long exit, Short entry or Short exit, and Nyria shows what it parsed: the symbol, the side and, for options, the contract.
- 5
Test on paper
Deploy a bot on Nyria Paper first and let a real call fire. Each order shows on the bot's Logs tab, so you can hold it against the message that caused it.
- 6
Go live
When the paper orders match what you expect, deploy a second bot on your broker account, or edit the paper bot and pick the account. Start with a small budget per entry.
What a message can say
Nyria reads a call the way the caller already writes it, plain sentence or structured notation.

Structured notation

The size comes from the bot: each bot sizes every order from its own budget per entry, not from the message.
What Nyria reads out of a message
- Nyria reads embeds first, then free text: a plain sentence or structured notation.
- It ignores case, trailing punctuation, emoji and @everyone.
- After Nyria trades on a message, editing or deleting it does not reverse, change or cancel the order already placed.
- One channel per strategy. Attachments, forwarded messages and emoji-only messages are not read.

Questions
- Does Nyria read every channel in the server?
- No. Only the one channel you pick for the strategy. Threads, other channels and direct messages are not read, and one channel serves one strategy.
- Do I need to run the server?
- You need the Manage Server permission to invite the bot. A channel you read in someone else's server is not a source; a channel in a server you run is.
- Does Nyria's bot post in the channel?
- No. Inviting it asks Discord for one permission, View Channels, and it only reads.
- What happens if a message is edited or deleted after it trades?
- Nothing. Editing or deleting a message does not reverse, change or cancel the order Nyria already placed from it.
- Can I narrow a channel to one caller?
- Yes. The author filter matches part of the poster's display name, case-insensitive, so a channel with more than one poster can still be narrowed to the one who posts the calls.
- What does it cost?
- Paper trading is free with no time limit, up to 10 paper bots. Live trading is $100 a month per $10,000 of total entry allocation, with no per-bot fees.
