Alerts to orders

Discord alerts to Alpaca orders

Nyria's bot reads one channel in a Discord server you run. A call posted there, in the caller's own words, becomes an order in your Alpaca account. Nothing in the channel changes. No message template, no code, and a free paper run first.

How it works

Discord fires

Someone posts a call in the channel: BTO AAPL 345c 11/20, or a plain sentence. Nyria reads the channel you picked, and only the author or keyword you filter on.

Nyria reads it

Nyria reads the ticker and the side, and any strike, expiry or price the message names. Anything it leaves out comes from the strategy and the bot: size, order type, duration.

Alpaca gets the order

Each bot on the strategy places the order in its own Alpaca account through the official Alpaca API, logs it, and matches every exit alert to the position it closes.

What a Discord alert can say

Each row is an alert as Discord sends it, and what Nyria does with it at Alpaca.

A stock entry

NVDA long here 228

Buy NVDA. With the limit set to Alert price the order goes out at 228; with Bid, Ask or Mid, Nyria prices it from the live quote.

An options entry

BTO AAPL 345c 11/20 @ 12.50

Buy to open the AAPL $345 call expiring Nov 20, 2026. A call with no date takes the nearest listed expiration.

A crypto entry

Long BTC here

Buy BTC spot. The message has no size, so each bot's budget per entry sets it.

An exit, written as a sentence

Taking profits on NVDA here

Close the open NVDA position, matched against what the bot is holding.

Set it up

  1. 1Connect Alpaca. Paste an API key you create in the Alpaca dashboard into the Integrations page in Nyria.
  2. 2Link Discord under Integrations and invite the Nyria bot to the server. Inviting it needs the Manage Server permission.
  3. 3Create a strategy, pick Discord, choose the channel to read, and narrow it to the author who posts the calls or to a keyword if you want to.
  4. 4Paste a real message from the channel to validate it. The strategy stays inactive until Nyria reads it correctly.
  5. 5Deploy a bot on the strategy, pick the Alpaca account and set a budget per entry. The next alert becomes an order.

Questions

Does Nyria read every message in the server?
No. Only the channel you pick, and only the author or keyword you filter on if you set one. Replies and questions from everyone else place nothing, and messages elsewhere in the server are ignored.
Do I need to run the server?
You need the Manage Server permission to invite the bot. A channel you read in someone else's server is not a source; a channel in a server you run is.
Does Nyria hold my Alpaca login?
Nyria stores the Alpaca API key encrypted at rest. Create it with trading permission only; placing and cancelling orders is all Nyria needs.
Can I test before trading real money at Alpaca?
An Alpaca paper account connects the same way as a live one, so the same strategy can run on both, each bot in its own size.
Where do stops and targets come from?
From your alerts. No stop or take-profit order waits at Alpaca between alerts; a close alert closes the position, matched to what the bot holds.
Can one alert trade on paper and at Alpaca at the same time?
Yes. One alert reaches every bot on the strategy, so a paper bot and a Alpaca bot can run the same strategy side by side, each with its own budget per entry.
What does it cost?
Paper trading is free with no time limit, up to 10 paper bots. Live trading at Alpaca is $100 a month per $10,000 of total entry allocation, with no per-bot fees.
