Webull automated trading: what works today
Nyria's Webull connection is coming soon. Until it's live, Webull's own API needs an application that Webull reviews, and unofficial libraries carry real risk. What works today: automate at a broker Nyria already connects, keep Webull for everything else, and test on paper first.
Webull's API today
Automation needs an official API that lets a program place and cancel orders with your permission. Webull's OpenAPI requires an application, and Webull reviews each one before it issues keys. On Nyria, Charles Schwab, Tradier, tastytrade and Alpaca connect in minutes, through the broker's sign-in page or an API key.
Unofficial open-source libraries exist that call Webull's internal endpoints. They carry the same risks as any unofficial library: the endpoints can change without notice, the library handles your login, and using it may run against Webull's terms of service, which puts the account at risk. Treat any tool that offers Webull automation via an unofficial path with that in mind.
What to do today
- 1
Keep Webull and open a second account
Nothing has to move. Open an account at a broker Nyria connects: Charles Schwab, Tradier, tastytrade or Alpaca. Fund it with the amount the automated strategy will use.
- 2
Decide where your signals come from
An alert is a message that names what to buy or sell. It can come from a TradingView chart, a Discord server or Telegram chat you run, a TrendSpider alert, or a script that calls a webhook URL.
- 3
Connect the broker to a tool that holds the connection
You can write a receiver yourself against the broker's API, or use one that already exists. With Nyria, Schwab, Tradier and tastytrade connect through the broker's sign-in page, and Alpaca with an API key and secret from its dashboard.
- 4
Test on paper before live
Deploy the strategy on Nyria Paper, the simulated broker that is free on every plan. Let real alerts fire for a week, read the Logs tab, and confirm each message placed the order you expected. When it reads right, switch to the live account.
Running two accounts gives you separation: a strategy that misfires touches only the account you funded for it. Webull keeps working as before.
Brokers Nyria connects to
Nyria currently connects to Charles Schwab, Tradier, tastytrade and Alpaca for live trading, and to Nyria Paper for free simulation. Webull is coming soon, and its integration page shows the status.
Each broker that is live connects through its own sign-in (Schwab, Tradier, tastytrade) or an API key (Alpaca). Nyria asks to read your positions and place and cancel orders. It does not ask for withdrawal permission and cannot move money out.
Questions
- Does Webull have an API for retail traders?
- Webull runs an OpenAPI program. You apply, and Webull reviews the application before it issues keys. developer.webull.com has the current terms.
- Can Nyria trade my Webull account?
- Not yet. Webull is coming soon. Until it's live, test on Nyria Paper for free, or connect Charles Schwab, Tradier, tastytrade or Alpaca.
- What does it cost to automate at another broker?
- Nyria Paper is free. Live trading starts at $15 a month.
- Is there a safe unofficial Webull library?
- Nyria cannot vouch for any. An unofficial library calls internal endpoints that can change without notice, requires your Webull login to be handled by third-party code, and using it may run against Webull's terms.
- Which brokers does Nyria support?
- Charles Schwab, Tradier, tastytrade and Alpaca are live. Webull and others are coming soon, and the Integrations page lists each one.
