How to automate options alerts, step by step

Nyria turns an options alert from TradingView, Discord, Telegram or TrendSpider into an order at your broker, a single leg or a spread up to 4 legs, sent as one order. This guide goes from the broker connection to a live bot.

What you need

  • A Nyria account with a connected broker: Charles Schwab, Tradier, tastytrade or Alpaca.
  • An alert source already set up: TradingView, Discord, Telegram or TrendSpider.
  • A plan for the trade: single leg, vertical spread, iron condor or butterfly, straddle or strangle, up to 4 legs on one expiration.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Connect a broker

Sign in at Charles Schwab, Tradier or tastytrade from Integrations, or paste an Alpaca API key. All four trade stocks and options up to 4 legs; tastytrade and Alpaca add crypto spot.

  2. 2

    Pick the alert source

TradingView, Discord, Telegram or TrendSpider; each reads the alert as that source already sends it, your own wording or JSON.

  3. 3

    Write the options alert

Name the ticker and the side; for a specific contract add the strike, expiry and call or put. Leave them out and the strategy's own rules pick them: an expiration 0 to 31 trading days out.

  4. 4

Set the spread, if it has one

Up to 4 legs on one expiration, every leg the same quantity: vertical spread, iron condor or butterfly, straddle or strangle. Ratio spreads, calendars and diagonals aren't supported.

  5. 5

    Validate and test on paper

Send a test alert; the strategy stays inactive until Nyria reads it correctly, and the log shows what it parsed. Deploy on Nyria Paper first.

  6. 6

    Go live

When the paper fills match what you expect, deploy a second bot on the broker account. Exits match the entry, leg for leg.

What an options alert can say

Nyria reads the contract the alert names, or picks one from the strategy's own rules.

TradingView, as JSON

{ "ticker": "SPY", "action": "BTO", "strike": 775, "expiry": "2026-12-18", "type": "call" }

Discord or Telegram, as a sentence

BTO AAPL 345c 11/20 @ 12.50

What you can build

  • Single-leg directional calls and puts, long or sell-to-open, for example BTO SPY 775C 12/18 or STO SPY 765P 12/18.
  • Vertical spreads, debit and credit, such as a SPY bull call spread or a QQQ bear put spread.
  • Iron condors and iron butterflies on one expiration, such as an SPX 0DTE iron condor or a SPY 14DTE iron butterfly.
  • Straddles and strangles, a call and a put on one expiration, such as a SPY 0DTE straddle or a TSLA weekly strangle.
  • Cash-secured puts and covered calls, each on its own alert, such as an MSFT cash-secured put or an AMZN covered call.
  • 0DTE, same-day SPX, SPY, QQQ and IWM expirations. SPX options go to Charles Schwab, Tradier and tastytrade only, not Alpaca.

Questions

How many legs can one order have?
Up to 4, all on one expiration, with every leg the same quantity. Ratio spreads such as a 1:2:1 butterfly, calendars and diagonals aren't supported.
What if the alert names no expiration?
The strategy's own rules pick one 0 to 31 trading days out. A contract named in the alert can be any listed expiration. A Discord or Telegram alert with no date takes the nearest listed one, which can be today's (0DTE), even late in the day.
Which brokers trade SPX?
Charles Schwab, Tradier and tastytrade trade the PM-settled SPXW chain. Alpaca trades options but not SPX.
Does Nyria hold my broker login?
No. Charles Schwab, live Tradier and tastytrade connect by signing in at the broker, and Alpaca by an API key you create. None of the four give Nyria withdrawal permission.
What does it cost?
Paper trading is free with no time limit, up to 10 paper bots. Live trading is $100 a month per $10,000 of total entry allocation, with no per-bot fees.
