Show your TradingView backtest on your strategy page
Export the List of trades from TradingView's Strategy Tester and upload the file to a strategy on Nyria. The strategy page then shows the equity curve, the statistics, monthly returns and every trade. You choose whether visitors see it or only you.
Upload a backtest
- 1In TradingView, open the Strategy Tester under your chart and select the List of trades tab.
- 2Select the Download icon at the top right of the panel. TradingView saves a CSV.
- 3In Nyria, create a strategy with TradingView as the alert source, or open one you already have.
- 4On the strategy's Overview tab, select Add backtest and choose the file. The full report as .xlsx works too, up to 10 MB.
- 5Fill in the symbol, timeframe and initial capital if the file doesn't carry them, then choose whether to show the backtest on the strategy page.
- 6Select Import.
The full steps, with the time zone and the checks Nyria runs on the file, are in the docs. You can also add the file on the first screen of Create strategy.
What the page shows
Statistics
Net return, max drawdown, win rate, profit factor, trades and average trade, with dollar figures beside the percentages.
Charts
An equity curve of return on initial capital, a grid of monthly returns, and the symbol's price with each entry and exit marked.
Every trade
The full trade list from the file, so a visitor can check a figure against a row.
vs Live
Once the strategy has live trades on Nyria, a vs Live view draws the backtest and the live record on one chart. Stock and crypto strategies.
Public or private
- Private is where it starts. Only you see the backtest.
- Public shows it to anyone who can open the strategy page. On a Premium strategy that includes people who haven't subscribed.
- Visitors see the run's capital, order size and costs. The script's inputs stay with you.
- Change it any time from the section's menu.
Every backtest carries the same label: Hypothetical backtest from TradingView. Simulated results aren't live results and don't predict future returns.
Before you share it
- Check for repainting. A repainting script plots entries it never fired live. The docs say what to look for.
- Export again when you change the script or its settings, then delete the old run.
- Keep the Pine code private in the strategy's Notes tab, which only you can open. How Notes work.
Then connect the alerts
The same strategy takes the TradingView alerts that place orders. Automate TradingView alerts covers the setup, Nyria Paper tests it free, and the creators page covers selling access.
Questions
- Which TradingView file does Nyria take?
- The List of trades CSV from the Strategy Tester, or the full report as an .xlsx file. Files can be up to 10 MB.
- Is my backtest public by default?
- No. It stays private until you switch on Show on the strategy page.
- Does Nyria keep my file or run my script?
- Neither. Nyria reads the file once and keeps the trades from it. The script stays in TradingView unless you add it to the strategy's private Notes.
- Do I need alerts running to add a backtest?
- No. A strategy takes a backtest before any alert arrives. The vs Live view appears once it has live trades.
- Can I add more than one backtest?
- Yes. A menu above the section switches between them, so you can keep a run per symbol or timeframe.
